In this generation of today, we youth didn't really stick Or care enough to keep our virginity, but that's not what I really bring to you. What I brought this day will be very interesting.
In the parable of the ten virgins, Jesus Christ clarify what it means to be ready for His return and how to live until He comes. He clarify further that every person is responsible for his or her own spiritual condition.
One would have thought that since they were virgins they were qualified to meet the bridegroom. Alas it is more than being a virgin.
- Your Salvation only serves as a passport, you need to constantly be on guard and take heed.
5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
(Matthew 25:5-10)
- Pray constantly so that you will able to stand against the wiles of the enemy.
Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” (Matthew 26:38)
- You need to daily examine yourself (2 Corinthians 13:5)
- Don't be example of foolishness. Pray for more Christian experiences and crucify self.
- There is nothing like eternal security, i.e once you are saved you are forever. It is a fallacy and misleading. Rather you need to hire your loins and let your lamp be burning always.
35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. (Luke 12:35-38)
- Don't let anything take your eyes off your goal - Christ Lay side everything harmful to Christian race and forsake anything that may distract you from being righteous, effective Christian.
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)
- The oil in your lamp cannot definitely carry you in the journey you are not sure of the time it will end. You need extra oil. Be ready to go extra mile.
